Bourne Fourth of July Parade 2008
Dear Parade Participant:
It is our hope that you will choose to celebrate with us at the Town of
Bourne’s 2nd Annual 2008 Fourth of July Parade as we commemorate
our national pride while fostering a sense of civic involvement and
community celebration. Our parade is scheduled for Friday, July 4, 2008 at
10 a.m., with line-up beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Our first priority is the safety and care of children, parade
participants and the spectators along the parade route. Please honor the
following guidelines as they are designed to ensure success of the parade.
We will have a float competition for the parade, provided the Committee
determines that there are a sufficient number of parade floats entered in
the parade to support such a contest. The Parade Committee will choose
the float that they feel best represents the spirit of the parade. Criteria
for judging shall be based on creativity, preparation and entertainment
value. Judging will take place prior to the parade at the staging location.
If you wish for your float to be entered into the contest please arrive at
the staging location no later than 9 a.m. on the day of the parade. The
parade awards presentation will be held prior to the parade. All judges’
decisions are final.
Space in the parade is limited and the registration deadline is June 1,
2008 or when unit capacity is reached, whichever occurs first. If you are
interested in participating, please complete and return enclosed forms to
the following:
